SCOUTING REPORT

STRENGTHS: Finds soft spots in coverage...Great route runner...Soft hands...Very good focus & concentration

WEAKNESSES: Suspect overall speed...Not very strong or physical...Limited NFL potential...Spread offense

OVERALL: A three year starter, Juaquin Iglesias was selected for the Second Team All-Big 12 team as a senior as he led the Sooners in receptions and receiving yards the past two seasons. Iglesias made a big impact as a true freshman in 2005 and worked his way into the starting line up as a sophomore, second on the team in receptions. Iglesias has decent height at a hair under 6-0, but needs to get stronger to match up better at the NFL level. He has excellent field awareness and does a great job finding the soft spots in coverage. Iglesias is a very effective route runner and looks smooth in and out of his breaks. He shows fantastic hand-eye coordination and focus to make all the catches. Iglesias doesn’t have dynamic quickness, but he has much better speed than he is given credit for. He isn’t very physical and his lack of overall strength is evident. Iglesias played in a spread offensive attack at Oklahoma so there will be questions if he was simply a product of the system. He shows very good balance on the sidelines and always knows where he is at on the field. Iglesias doesn’t have a great burst and might have trouble separating at the NFL level. He has some quickness in the open field and will make defenders miss. Iglesias is a tough player and very hard worker. He doesn’t have the tools to be a #1 receiver at the next level, but has the talent to be a consistent possession receiver as a #2 wideout or in the slot as a #3.

BOTTOM LINE: Iglesias had a very productive collegiate career in Norman and has the concentration and hands to a solid possession receiver in the NFL – does everything good, but nothing great.
